"Join us for a beautiful evening celebrating
Assumption Seminary where we are forming the next generation of holy parish priests who will serve the
Catholic faithful."

Founded in 1915, Assumption Seminary is one of only three diocesan seminaries in Texas and has been forming Catholic priests for more than a century. Located in San Antonio, the seminary serves the Archdiocese of San Antonio and partner dioceses throughout Texas and the Southwest. Assumption Seminary forms seminarians in a vibrant, bilingual, and multicultural community, preparing future priests to provide holy, faithful and effective leadership in an increasingly diverse Church. Rooted in a tradition of academic excellence, human formation, spiritual growth, and pastoral preparation, Assumption Seminary equips men to serve the People of God with wisdom, compassion, and a missionary spirit.

Honoring an Assumption Seminary Alumnus
As part of the Assumption Seminary 2026 Gala festivities, we will be toasting one of our illustrious alumnus, Bishop Michael Boulette. He was ordained March 19, 1976, served as pastor of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville for 18 years, founded St. Peter Upon the Water, a center for spiritual direction and formation in 2004, and on January 23,2017, Pope Francis appointed him Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of San Antonio. Pope Leo XIV accepted Bishop Boulette’s letter of resignation on September 8, 2025.
