The call to priesthood is one of the most rewarding vocations that a man can receive from God. It is an ever new challenge to go out into the flux of the world and present the Truth of Christ as He is. It involves sacrifice, innovation, discipline, courage, strength, perseverance and the particular quality of living as one in the world, but as one not of the world. It is all accomplished through love, and first and foremost the love that God has for each one of us. And it is by that love that a priest persists. But who will answer the call to such a vocation?

My inspiration to the priesthood came from my parents who sacrificed to educate me and have lived in love and faithfulness to each other and the Church during their 36 years of marriage. Fr. Peter O'Callaghan also influenced me as he showed faithfulness to his ministry and perseverance despite poor health and suffering.

I came to my vocation through the mercy of God and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. It was through the rosary that Mary brought me into great intimacy with her Son. As I continue this journey to the Priesthood of Christ, I place it in the Lady's hands to keep me safe and to complete the good work that has begun.

Una vez mi amigo, el sacerdote Padre Arkadiusz Szyda, me preguntó si alguna vez había pensando en ser sacerdote. Desde entonces el llamado de Dios comenzó a crecer, y viendo la necesidad de sacerdotes hispanos en San Antonio, decidí entrar al seminario a prepararme para seguir ese llamado.

I was inspired to my vocation by Fr. Victor Carrillo who told me that I would make a good priest. This opened priesthood as an actual option for my future. I look forward to helping God's people and our Archdiocese grow ever closer to Him.
