Very Rev. Jeff Pehl, Rector Fr. Jeff is a native of Texas. He was ordained in 1995 and is a priest for the Archdiocese of San Antonio. Fr. Jeff is bilingual and has a Master of Divinity degree. He has experience as a Spiritual Director, Parochial Vicar, Pastor, and Seminary Vice Rector.


Rev. Virgil Elizondo, Vice Rector
Fr. Virgil is a native of Texas. He was ordained in 1963 and is a priest for the Archdiocese of San Antonio. He speaks several languages and has experience as Teacher, Parochial Vicar, Pastor, Cathedral Rector and founder of MACC. He is an Author, Theologian and Chaired Professor of Pastoral and Hispanic Theology at the University of Notre Dame. Fr. Virgil serves part time at the Seminary as the Director of Pastoral Formation.


Rev. Arnold Ibarra, Vice Rector
Fr. Arnold is a native of the Philippines. He was ordained in the year 2000 and is a priest for the Diocese of Tarlac. He studied in the Philippines, Canada and Spain. Arnold has an STB and a Licentiate and PhD. in Philosophy. He speaks several languages and has experience in Spiritual Direction, Hospital Chaplaincy, and Seminary formation. He is an instructor at the Mexican American Catholic College and Oblate School of Theology. He is also the Seminary Dean of Men for Theology.


Sister Jane Ann Slater, CDP
Sr. Jane Ann is a native of Arkansas. She made her first vows in the Congregation of Divine Providence of San Antonio in 1957 and has experience in the field of education at the junior high, high school, and university levels. She has a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry. Sr. Jane Ann serves as the Director of Academics and a member of the formation team.


Rev. José Antonio Ortiz
Fr. Antonio is a native of Mexico. He was ordained in 1978 and is a priest for the Archdiocese of San Luis Potosí. He speaks several languages and has experience as a parochial vicar, pastor and seminary instructor in Mexico and the US. He studied in México and Rome and has a Licentiate in Moral Theology. Fr. Antonio is an instructor at MACC and he is the Seminary Dean of Men for College.


Sister Mary Christine Morkovsky, CDP
Sr. Mary Christine is a native of Texas. She has been a member of the Congregation of Divine Providence for sixty years. She speaks several languages and has a Master of Arts in both religious studies and philosophy, and a PhD. in philosophy. She is a teacher, author and organist. She has taught in several universities including Our Lady of the Lake and La Roche, as well as seminaries in Hales Corners, Wisconsin, Ogdensburg, New York, and San Antonio, Texas. At Assumption Seminary, she is a member of the formation team and an instructor at MACC.


Rev. Martin Elsner, SJ
Fr. Marty is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. He is a member of the Society of Jesus and was ordained a priest in 1962. Marty is bilingual and has a Master in Education. He has experience as a Teacher, Principal, Spiritual Director, Parochial Vicar and Pastor. At the Seminary Fr. Marty is a member of the team of spiritual directors.


Rev. Agustín Estrada
Fr. Agustín is a native of Mexico. He was ordained in the year 2000, and he is a priest for the Diocese of Aguascalientes. He studied in Mexico and Spain and has an STB. Fr. Agustín speaks several languages and has experience as a parochial vicar, spiritual director, and pastor in Mexico and the U.S. At the Seminary Agustin serves part time as a member of the formation team and is an instructor at MACC.


Mr. Chris Stravitsch
Chris is a native of Texas. He is a husband and father. He has two MA degrees, one in Pastoral Ministry and the other in Marriage and Family Therapy. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. He has directed Catechetical Conferences and serves as adjunct faculty for the Institute of Priestly Formation. Chris is Seminary Chair of Admissions and Director of College Formation.


Mrs. Amy Zuberbueler
Amy is a native of Florida and is married. She holds a Master of Music Education degree and has experience as a (cathedral) Parish Music Teacher, Choral Director, Cantor, and Organist. At the Seminary Amy serves part time as Music Director and as the Associate Director of Liturgy. She is also an instructor at MACC.


Rev. James Tucker, SS
Fr. Jim is a native of California. He was ordained in 1969 and is a member of the Society of St. Sulpice. He holds both MA and MS degrees and a PhD. in Clinical Psychology. He is a licensed marriage and family therapist and licensed clinical psychologist. He has served at several seminaries across the U.S., been a consultant to various bishops’ conferences around the world, and was the Director of the Pastoral Services Center in San Jose, California. Fr. Jim speaks a number of languages. At Assumption Seminary, Jim is the Director of Spiritual Formation and leads the team of spiritual directors. He is also an instructor at MACC and OST.


Rev. Mike Peinemann
Fr. Mike is a native of Texas. He is a former permanent deacon and is a widower and father. Ordained to the presbyterate in 2005, Fr. Mike is a Priest for the Archdiocese of San Antonio. He has a Master in Education degree. Mike is bilingual and has experience as an Educator, Parochial Vicar, Spiritual Director and Pastor. He is the seminary Director of Liturgy and a member of the team of Spiritual Directors.


Rev. John Collet, OMI
John is a native of Canada. He is member of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate and was ordained in 1967. In Canada and the U.S., John has studied in a variety of fields and holds a MA in Spirituality. He speaks several languages and has experience in spiritual direction, giving retreats and teaching. He has served at several seminaries including all three seminaries in Texas. At Assumption Seminary John is an instructor at MACC and a member of the team of spiritual directors.


Rev. José Ramon Perez
José Ramon is a native of México. He was ordained in 1980. He studied in México and Spain and has a Master of Education and a Ph.D. in Canon Law. José Ramon has experience as a parochial vicar, teacher and spiritual director. At Assumption Seminary José Ramon serves part time as a member of the team of spiritual directors and an instructor at MACC.


Deacon Robert M. Garza
Robert is a native of Texas. He is a husband, father and grandfather. He was ordained to the permanent diaconate in 1991 for the Archdiocese of San Antonio. Robert is bilingual and has a Master of Arts in Pastoral Administration. He has experience in hospital, hospice, and palliative care chaplaincy; parish ministry; spiritual direction; and program leadership. At the Seminary he is Administrator of the Pastoral Formation Program.
